Introductory programme
The municipality of Hemne is responsible for carrying out the introductory language programme for foreigners.
The introductory programme consists of:
- Norwegian language course including information about the Norwegian society
- Secondary school
- Vocational training
The programme takes from 0 to 5 years depending on former knowledge and education/experience.
Before entering the programme the individual has to go through a test showing knowledge status and former education on secondary school level.
The Norwegian language course is held by the Hemne Ressurssenter (Resource Center) on behalf of the municipal district of Hemne.
The introductory programme is presented by the Asylum Center to those who arrive there.

Presenting the introductory programme to residing refugees can also be done by the office for social service.
The service is free.
