Hemne in Numbers

Hemne community is 660 km2 big.  With lots of beautiful coastland.  The highest point is Ruten with 1040m over sealevel.  The community has a population of 4300, whereas half of the people live in the community’s capital Kyrksæterøra.

Infrastructure and Economy

The community has 4 elementary schools.  They all have a program in the afternoon, from the end of school until the usual end of a workday.  Four public and four private nursery schools meet the needs of kindergartenplaces.

The community also has a junior college (secondary school), Hemne Vidergående skole.  For the remains, the community has a good developed Health- and Socialsystem.  A gym gives the possibility for lots of different sportive activities.

Furthermore the community contains two more small cities, Vinjeøra with a population of 200 and Hellandsjøen with a population of 300 people.  Both cities are placed 15 km from the community’s capital Kyrksæterøra.

The sportsarena Hemnehallen        

Hemne is a coast community, which is placed in Trøndelag.  It is 110 km from Trondheim and 60 km from Orkdal.  The community borders on Møre and Romsdal with the community Aure which is known as a gasscon-veyancing community.

Vinjeøra       

The community has various economy life.  The biggest industry – workingplace is the Fesil Holla Metall that produces siliciummetal.  Some other important industry and tradeprodukts are agriculture, rising of salmon, rowan- and breedingproduction, transport and service, with other words trade and hotel.  Also is the neighborhood with an developing gassconveyancing city, Tjeldbergodden in  the Aure Community, an important factor for industry and trade.
